Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2020!  We hope you enjoyed your holidays and are looking forward to a new year of creating wonderful treasures.  We are certainly excited about the coming year!

January is chock-full of classes and activities, starting with another series of Beginning Quilting.  This is an 8 session course that starts with the basics of measuring and cutting fabric and finishes with binding the quilt that you will make.

Our Annual BOM begins this month.  The quilt is hanging in the shop and a photo is with the sign up as a class if you are curious about the blocks we will be offering. Our last news letter described it in detail, but if you didn't save the information, it is available on our website.

Something brand new - we are planning to rent out time on our fantastic Q24 Long Arm machine!  If you haven't been in the shop lately, you should stop in to see the Q24 and her smaller sister, the sit-down Q20.  They are wonderful machines, and we are so happy to have them here.  A requirement before a user can rent time on the Q24 is Amy's Long Arm 101 Class. This is a class to train anyone wanting to know how to use a Bernina Long Arm in preparation for renting space or assisting on the machine during Charity Sew Days.  It is also a great learning experience for anyone interested in long arm quilting, but hasn't had an opportunity to try it.  This class will only have two people and will be a full day. We will hold 6 sessions this winter, so sign ups will be limited.  See our classes for more information.

Additional activities in January - Michelle will be teaching two classes in Basic Free Motion quilting using Westalee rulers, the Sampler Quilt BOM will begin mid-month, and the Continuum BOM (also known as the Quilt Class in a Bag) will start toward the end of January.  We have several Mastery Classes on the calendar in hopes of getting everyone caught up for 2019!  We will schedule you with Sharon based on your availability and machine type.  If you are needing Mastery, please call the shop for more information.  Barbara will be hosting a Fun With Embroidery Day 01/21 for anyone needing help with machine embroidery projects - bring your machine, your project and your questions!

Judy Bowers will have a Quiltworx Sew Day on 01/20 for anyone needing assistance on a Judy Niemeier PP project, as well as a class in a different paper piecing technique on 01/22 - The Gemstone January Birthstone: Garnet Block. On 01/23, Sharon will teach her Fun with Kimberbell Class.  Each month there will be a take home project with Kimberbell!  And rounding out our month's activities, our Charity Sew Day and Potluck will be Saturday, 01/25.

Coming in February: The Teapot Sampler by Jason Yenter of In The Beginning Fabrics.  It combines applique with small pieced blocks!  It is colorful and stunning.  We have the photos on line and the quilt will be in the shop shortly.  Class begins 02/14, and kits are available.  Come by the shop and have a look!

NEW - we have a special demo day for AccuQuilt on Saturday, 02/22.  If you have thought about one, aren't sure how it works or whether you would really benefit from owning one, this will be informative and interesting.  There will be a morning and afternoon session ready for signups in the next week.

Please see our on-line calendar and class descriptions for more information.
