Good Afternoon Everyone! To date the Hot Springs Village / Area Sewists have donated more than 1,700 masks to needy causes. (Chi St Vincent Hospital and Convalescent facilities, Mount Carmel and Belveder care facilities, Hot Springs Nursing Homes, POA Fire Depts, POA Public Works Employees, Good Sam's, Teen Challenge, Oncology patients, etc.) I also know many of you are sewing for family and friends in the medical professions. Cuddoes to everyone.
Since the Governor was going to begin letting up on restrictions, we were going to say finish what you have and move on to some fun sewing - but now these restrictions are beginning to require masks to go out. Children's Hospital in Little Rock has asked for 1,700 masks! Beginning next week they will be allowing visitors again, but EVERYONE HAS TO HAVE A MASK! They even want children and youth masks for siblings to visit.... I'm giving them all we have tomorrow (250)! I know some of you have already given...thank you, thank you. Contact is: Sue Lief 310-351-1212 if you want to give direct support from another area.
I'm hoping our Benton and Little Rock guilds are getting in on the action. If you need the mask pattern preferred by Chi St Vincent, which comes in Ladies/Youth, teen/children sizes - go to Craft Passion.com. You can also reply to this e-mail and I'll send you the files. I can not attach files to my newsletter templates.
Hint: On this pattern, run a shoe string straight down from the top side. It can be put over the head, above the ears and hangs when not in use. It can be tied and adjusted perfectly to each face. I really like mine that Deb Heau did for me!
I'll check on the status of interfacing and elastic next week. If you are in need, please call and put your name on the waiting list. 501-318-2739
DROP OFF POINTS: Hickory Hill Quilts and in the village: 15 Realeza Court @ mile marker 13 off DeSoto. (Amy's House)
THANK YOUS: Many have called to say what a blessing the masks have been. They want to do news articles giving shout outs to you all! I'll bring the hand written ones to the next guild meeting. We have cards and pictures. Know that your labor is appreciated and expressed.
